Diablo Immortal Turns 3: Huge Anniversary Update Brings Free Gems, Epic Events & More!

Sanctuary is celebrating! Diablo Immortal, the popular mobile and PC action RPG, is hitting its third anniversary on June 1st. To mark the occasion, Blizzard is rolling out a massive update packed with new events, generous rewards including a free powerful Legendary Gem, exciting challenges, and gameplay adjustments. This update is designed to welcome back players and give everyone something to look forward to, regardless of their level.

Get ready for downtime! Servers will undergo maintenance starting May 27 (for Oceania, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe) and May 28 (for the Americas). Once maintenance is finished, the new content will begin rolling out.

Here are the highlights of this huge anniversary patch:

Celebrating Three Years of Diablo Immortal

The “Threefold Rebirth” anniversary celebration kicks off on June 1st. It’s not just one event, but a series of activities running throughout June. Think of it as a month-long party in Sanctuary!

Some early anniversary activities include:

• Third Chime Phantom Gallery: June 1–June 19
• Legendary Gem Trial: June 1–June 19
• Mirrored Jewels: June 8–June 14

Your Anniversary Gift: A Free 5-Star Legendary Gem

One of the biggest gifts for players is a free 5-Star Blood Floe Legendary Gem. Legendary Gems are crucial for powering up your character in Diablo Immortal, and 5-Star gems are among the most sought-after. This specific gem is previewed to be introduced in a future major update, so you’re getting an early, powerful item.

You can claim this gift from June 19 to July 2 via the Battle.net shop. To be eligible, you need to be at least Level 30 and have your Diablo Immortal account linked to Battle.net. This is a fantastic free boost to your character’s power!

Challenge Sanctuary’s Toughest Foes in Anniversary Events

Several limited-time events are arriving to test your mettle and reward your efforts.

Trial of True Evils

Think you can take on the biggest baddies in Diablo history? The Trial of True Evils event, running from June 1 to June 19, pits you against iconic bosses like The Butcher, Baal, Skarn, and Diablo himself. A new boss becomes available every few days, and eventually, you can challenge them all back-to-back. Don’t worry, these bosses scale to your power level, making it accessible for anyone Level 30 or higher.

Conquering these trials earns you special anniversary rewards, including a unique Avatar Frame just for logging in during the event, a fun “Butchie” Familiar pet (yes, you get a mini-Butcher!), Legendary Crests, and valuable gear pieces. It’s a great way to revisit challenging fights and score some loot.

Infernal Trials

Running from June 4 to July 2, Infernal Trials encourages you to participate in other ongoing limited-time events like Survivor’s Bane or Fractured Plane. By completing activities within these events, you earn points towards the Infernal Trials, unlocking rewards like Telluric Pearls (a valuable crafting resource), Legendary items, and Legendary Gems. It’s a layered event that rewards consistent playtime across different modes.

Set Gear Reforging

Need to upgrade your gear? From June 1 to June 19, a special Reforging event lets you combine three identical Set Items into a single, potentially much stronger version. This new item can roll with up to three Attributes and three Affixes (those extra stats and bonuses that make gear powerful). It’s a temporary way to get more out of your duplicate gear pieces and chase better stats.

The Prince’s Trail

Hinting at future content, The Prince’s Trail event runs from June 12 to June 23. Logging in on specific days during this event (days 2, 4, and 8) grants you rewards like Telluric Pearls and Crests. Plus, participating gives you a significant 100% bonus to experience gained from Battle Pass levels, helping you climb faster. You’ll need to be at least Level 30 to join this trail.

Boost Your Gem Chances: Conditional Drop Rate Event

From June 1 to June 19, there’s a special bonus for players using Eternal or standard Legendary Crests (items used to run Elder Rifts for a chance at Legendary Gems). If you use 30 Crests in a row without getting a 5-Star Legendary Gem, your chance of getting one starts increasing with the 31st Crest. This bonus grows with each subsequent attempt, guaranteeing a 5-Star Gem by your 50th try if you haven’t gotten one before then. It’s a safety net to improve your odds when chasing those rare, powerful gems.

New Battle Pass & Cosmetics

Battle Pass 40: Last Light’s Keepers

A new Battle Pass season, themed “Last Light’s Keepers,” arrives on June 7. As usual, it features 40 tiers of rewards you earn by playing the game and completing objectives. Expect valuable items like Crests, Hilts, Legendary Gems, and more. You have until July 3 to complete the ranks.

Sublime Lineage of Beasts Cosmetic Set

Want to give your character a fierce new look? The “Sublime Lineage of Beasts” cosmetic set is available in the in-game shop. Cosmetics change your character’s appearance without affecting stats, letting you customize your hero’s style. This set gives you a beastly, primal look.

Class Balance Adjustments

Several classes are receiving tweaks to their abilities to improve gameplay balance:

• Barbarian: Whirlwind skills get buffs – one gains knockback immunity, another’s Bleed effect can stack higher, and a third sees its Armor shatter effect increased (though it now only benefits the Barbarian).
• Demon Hunter: The Escape skill now grants a damage and attack speed boost if used while being affected by knockback.
• Blood Knight: Adjustments to Whirling Strike and Transfusion abilities, including front-loaded damage reduction on Whirling Strike and gaining knockback immunity when using Transfusion defensively on an ally.
• Monk: Exploding Palm’s cooldown is increased, but its damage is significantly boosted.

These changes aim to keep the game feeling fresh and ensure all classes have viable playstyles.

Quality of Life Updates

Beyond the events and balance changes, a couple of smaller but welcome updates are included:

• Battle Pass Rewards: The Standard and Premium Battle Passes, as well as the Battle Archive Shop, now offer even more rewards, including additional Legendary Gem Selection Chests, Gems, and crafting materials.
• Crafting Notifications: The persistent notification from Charsi about having enough materials to craft an item can now be dismissed, clearing up your UI.

Mark your calendars! Several popular limited-time events will be making a return during the anniversary period:

• Hungering Moon: May 31–June 7
• Winds of Fortune: June 1–June 8
• Conqueror: June 6–June 9
