What is the Trading Post?
Think of the Trading Post as a special shop that refreshes its inventory every month. It offers unique items you can’t easily get elsewhere, from dazzling armor sets to fun toys and powerful-looking mounts. You don’t pay with gold; you use a special currency called Trader’s Tender.
You can find the Trading Post shops in major cities. Alliance players can visit Tawney and Wilder just outside the Mage District in Stormwind, while Horde players should head to the Zen’shiri Trading Post next to Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar. Adventurers exploring the new Isle of Dorn can also find representatives in Dornogal.
How to Earn Trader’s Tender
Earning Trader’s Tender is simple and happens just by playing the game you already enjoy!
- Monthly Allowance: Every player with an active account receives 500 Trader’s Tender automatically at the start of each month in a chest called the Collector’s Cache.
- Traveler’s Log: Earn up to an additional 500 Trader’s Tender by completing monthly activities listed in the Traveler’s Log (found in your Adventure Guide, Shift-J by default). These activities are varied and include things like completing quests, running dungeons, participating in holidays, or exploring specific zones. You don’t need to do everything; just pick and choose activities that fit your playstyle until you hit the maximum.
If you don’t spend all your Tender in a month, it doesn’t disappear! Your unspent Tender saves up, allowing you to save for bigger purchases or items you might want later.
